IMPORTANT INFORMATION
COVID-19 UPDATE
17th March 2020
We are a community club that serves a diverse and ever-growing group of people that are made up of volunteers, supporters, players, coaches and employees. As such we have a duty of care to protect all those involved with Melton Mowbray Rugby Football Club (MMRFC), regardless of their role. Additionally, as a community club we are also involved throughout the year in a number of additional community orientated events which are not necessarily directly rugby related.
The recent outbreak and increasing transmission of Covid-19 has led the government to commit to providing daily updates and guidance which has implications not just for rugby and sport, but for society. As a community club, we have a duty to act as requested.
We are sure you will appreciate, the situation and direction provided by the Government, PHE and the RFU may change as they work to manage our societal demands and needs. Consequently, we will continually monitor and review any advice and act accordingly, keeping you informed of any developments as appropriate.
Therefore, with immediate effect, MMRFC will be following all the updated guidance provided in yesterday’s Prime Ministerial (PM) broadcast as well as the updated direction provided by Public Health England (PHE) and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) – please see all links below:

At a practical level for the Mini/Juniors / Senior sections this means that at least until the 14th April 2020 the club will be closed and all training, fixtures, social events and meetings are cancelled.
We know that many of you will be wondering about activities after the 14th April 2020, but as this is currently a very fluid and dynamically changing situation, We reiterate that we will take our lead based on the position provided by the Government, PHE and RFU and more updates will be provided in the coming days.
Thank you for your support and understanding during these unprecedented difficult times.
Steve Dudman-Millbank Marcus Twidale
MMRFC Mini/Junior Section Chair Chairman MMRFC
