Vixens suffer defeat against Market Bosworth

Soon after kick-off, Melton lost Chloe S to an injury. Despite this setback, Melton showed some great defence and almost scored but proved unable to build on that attack from the resulting scrum. Soon after, Bosworth made a break, however, Skyla made an amazing tackle preventing a try. Bosworth continued to attack and made a break, this time successfully scoring a converted try to open the scoring. Melton fought back with Lucy running in a try, shortly followed by another from Chloe A. The second try was converted by Lucy, putting Melton in the lead at half time 12-7.

Bosworth were able to call on their large squad to make a number of replacements and as the second half began the visitors scored twice both of which were converted. Although some of Vixens girls tackled, it wasn’t enough as Bosworth ran in another score from their half, which again was converted. This was closely followed by another converted Bosworth try.

As the match came to a close Melton attacked from a line out almost leading to a try by Chloe A who was stopped short of the line. Ending the match, a Melton scrum close to their try line was turned over from which Bosworth scored. The final whistle went with the match ending in a 12-42 defeat for the Melton Vixens.

Players player was Hannah for another standout performance and being a really good captain. Coaches’ player was awarded to the whole team for trying very hard despite the difference in team size between Melton and Bosworth.
